There is a record of the therapeutic effect of its mineral-medicinal waters since Roman times. At the end of the 18th century, the first medical and scientific analyzes were carried out, although they were already recognized for their effects in regaining health.

There are 37 types of water in the Balneario de Caldes de Boí, which range between 4ºC and 56ºC and which can be used for a wide variety of therapeutic purposes. There are different types of water: chlorinated, sulphured, sulfated and bicarbonated. Sodium predominates in hotter waters and calcium in colder ones. Its pH is basic in the majority except in those cold waters where it is acidic.

The water that is bottled under the name of Caldes de Boí, comes from the Font del Bou, one of the springs of the Spa at 1,500 meters. It is a water of weak mineralization, with a low calcium content, which prevents the formation of kidney stones. It also has a high content of silica that helps the elimination of the accumulation of fats and waste, favoring the purification of the body.
