What makes the Caldes de Boí waters unique?

Caldes de Boí thermal spa is located at 1.470 meters of altitude, next to the Noguera de Tor river, in an area with a high concentration of pure oxygen.

There are some proves of the therapeutic origin of its waters since the Romans, such as the discovery of some coins, found next to the hot springs.

The first analytics date from the 18th century and it was in 1887 when its waters were declared as water of public utility.

Caldes de Boi Thermal waters are mineral medicinal and, due to its composition, they have therapeutic properties.

37 water springs with different temperatures from 4ºC to 56 ºC.

It is estimated that Caldes de Boi waters have run a cycle of 10.000 to 16.000 years.

Due to their composition, waters are mainly chlorinated, sulphurous, sulphated and carbonated.

Guiness Record for being the thermal spa with the greatest variety of thermal waters.

Due to their therapeutic effect, it is possible to treat various diseases, such as rheumatological, respiratory, neurological, dermatological, kidney and urinary tract as well as anti-stress therapy.

The natural stoves of Caldes de Boí are natural caves at a 44ºC temperature, in a steam saturated environment, which have been used therapeutically since 1850. Due to their effects, they are used for respiratory treatment, inflammatory joint processes and as a preparation for dermatological treatments. Due to their regenerating and moisturizing properties, are also used for aesthetic treatment.

The muds of Caldes de Boí are elaborated in Caldes de Boí thermal spa according to a very old maturation technique with sulphureted water during a 2 years process. They are mainly indicated for osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.

The only thermal spa that manufactures two types of mud, one for the pain and inflammation and another one for dermatological uses.

Tartera Spring

Font de la Tartera is one of the most appreciated and recognized springs of Caldes de Boí that was discovered in 1849. Rich in sulfur, zinc and silica, emerges at 45ºC and is especially indicated to treat skin conditions through topical use. It is also recommended to drink it in order to threat respiratory pathologies.

Bou Spring

The water from the Font del Bou spring is used for domestic consumption under the commercial name of Agua de Boí. It emerges at a temperature of 36ºC. This water has a very weak mineralization, is hypotonic, soft, chlorinated, bicarbonate and rich in silica. For these characteristics it is indicated for gastritis diseases, gout and kidney stones.

Avellaner Spring

The Avellaner spring is a hypotonic, bicarbonate, chlorinated, sulfated and sodium water. It is very diuretic, with very weak mineralization. It emerges at 21ºC and is especially indicated for the urinary system pathologies . It helps to avoid fluid retention and is especially indicated for slimming and anti-cellulite programs.

Bosch Spring

Bosch spring emerges at a temperature of 31 ºC and next to the Noguera de Tor river. For its characteristics is indicated for the treatment of liver failure, constipation, diabetes, skin diseases and digestive disorders such as dyspepsia.

Boix Spring

It is the coldest water in Caldes de Boí. It emerges at a temperature of 4º C. With a very weak mineralization, it is also used to fill the outdoor pool. It is also used as a drinking water bottled under the name Aigua Font Boix.
